Sport & performance psychology refers to the application of psychological principles to achieve optimal performance with maximal enjoyment. For example, this can take the form of psychological strategies to optimize practice time, improve concentration, or reduce stage fright. For such clients, Dr. Kerzner employs mental skills training techniques to assist clients in achieving their performance goals.
However, in addition to striving for high levels of achievement, performers are often placed in situations that challenge their mental health in unique ways, making them vulnerable to clinical disorders or syndromes such as burn-out, depression, addictions, and eating disorders.
Dr. Kerzner’s training and experience in both clinical psychology and sport & performance psychology, gives her a wealth of knowledge with which to assist athletes and high performers.
